NPPC Case No. 05-15, Case No. 05034: Respondent mishandled school funds and failed to keep records for school activities she was assigned to sponsor contrary to written and dated policies of the Fairbury Public Schools which had been communicated to her. NPPC recommendation – two-year revocation. State Board decision – concurred.
NPPC Case No. 05-16, Case NO. 05023, Brett Meyer: Respondent had an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old female student that involved a series of personal communications through the use of cell phones, text messaging, instant messaging, and emails. NPPC Case No. 05-17, Case No. 05030, Lynn Weibel: Respondent was sentenced to 24 months of probation after she pled guilty to criminal attempt-possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine, a Class I Misdemeanor. NPPC recommendation – Permanent revocation. State Board decision – concurred.
NPPC Case No. 06-03, Case No. 05020, Jolene Cortez: Respondent was sentenced to fifty-seven months of incarceration by the United States District Court pursuant to a plea agreement wherein the Respondent pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute more than fifty grams of methamphetamine mixture and criminal forfeiture, both felonies. NPPC recommendation – permanent revocation. State Board decision – concurred.
NPPC Case No. 06-04, Case No. 05044: Respondent used a school district computer to access sexually explicit material. NPPC recommendation – two-year revocation. State Board decision – concurred.
NPPC Case No. 06-07, Case No. 05028, Gregory Brecka: Respondent pled guilty to attempted possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and false reporting, Both Class I misdemeanors and was sentenced to three hundred sixty-five days in jail on both counts. Respondent was sentenced to 365 days in jail on both counts. NPPC recommendation – permanent revocation. State Board decision – concurred.
NPPC Case No. 06-08, Case No. 05025: Respondent was found guilty in the Scottsbluff County Court of unlawful taking, a Class I Misdemeanor and was sentenced to a fine and restitution. NPPC recommendation – two-year revocation. State Board decision – concurred.
